You shouldn't mention Christianity in this context though. The Bible has conservative teachings about women (that many Christians ignore) but violators are not stoned, and Christian women should follow these things out of true belief only.

While Western civilisation waits for "enlightened" Islam and it is believed that the change must come from the Muslims themselves, some of them abandon the reforming critical eyes and silence them because it is allegedly "stigmatising".
There will never be an enlightened Islam because Islam can never be reformed as the Christian church was. Islam will forever be stuck in the 8th century and will be so as long as the Koran is printed in Farsi and never translated out. According to them, t is the pure form of the words spoken by Mohammed.
