Labour Transwomen to Women's Shortlists (Huff Post)
Just a short one because I have to do this before getting ready for work.
There were two major events yesterday that need to be noted, for posterity:
The Scots said women don’t have to be named to fill women’s positions on public boards as long as there are men to claim womanhood available for the job. This is a major step towards rooting those pesky women from a voice in public affairs, while getting mad props from the liberals and progressives who’ve been in the way in the past.1 The ruling was handed down by a woman, no less, Lady Haldane.
In a speech on signing a piece of legslation that protected gay and interracial marriage from being overturned by a hostile Supreme Court, our President decided to throw women, gays, and lesbians under the bus by equating “transphobia” with all the evil isms, such as racism. Elevating gender over sex is counter to feminism, and we shouldn’t accept this as normal. We need to weaken gender’s hold on our goals, dreams, aspirations, rights, and its limitations on women if we are ever going to see a day where women are truly free. Biden spits on it, but maybe he has too much of the modern Grima (Rachel Levine) in his ear. We can only hope that like Theoden, he breaks freefrom this slumber before the next election. 2
A friend suggested that I join the Progressive Caucus of the state Democratic party. I hesitate because I need to have a bit more courage before I start speaking out against the full force of this sort of anti-feminism. No woman wants a man to tell her she has feminism wrong, even if she is supporting trans ideology, but I also realize that I would have to speak against injustice, even if my voice quakes.
Someone needs to point out that the way that MRA’s are now beating back feminism is by supporting trans gender activism. Those weak assholes know that they can replace women using affirmative action statements if the organizations accept transwomen as women.
